Create your own gorgeous rainbow crystals in as little as 10 hours! An awesome experiment for curious children of all ages to discover more about science by growing crystals. Once grown, colour the crystal to make your own unique creation. An engaging way to entertain kids or as a novelty for the science lover in your life!
STEPS:
1. Fill the cup with 60mls of hot water (at least 80 degrees) as marked by the black line on the container
2. Add the crystal powder and stir quickly until completely dissolved for a max of 2 mins
3. Replace the lid loosely on the container and keep it in a safe place (indoors, away from young children and pets)
4. Once the solution is room temp, place base stone into middle of container. Leave uncovered and undisturbed
5. Within 10-12 hrs, crystals will start to form. Your crystal should grow to full size between 7-10 days
6. When ready, pour out excess solution and take the crystal out. Rinse crystal with water if stuck to the container. Allow 2-3 hrs for it to dry.
7. Place crystal on a covered surface or back into the container. Drop colour dyes sparingly onto the crystal, and allow 2-3 hrs to dry.
8. Project complete. Place in a spot where you can admire the rainbow effect
